    Welcome to the USW local 983's website.  Here we will keep our members informed and educated on the important labor/management issues that impact the production workforce at the International Paper Augusta Mill.  We also strive to keep you informed of United Steelworker activities nationally and internationally that impact our industry.  In addition, you will find benefits here available to you through USW membership. 

What We Do

USW local 983 represents the hourly production work force at International Paper's Augusta, Georgia Mill.  Through an established contract we ensure that that all members are treated fairly and equitably.  Regular meetings with our members bring important issues to light where they are then brought to the attention of mill management.  This process allows our members to have a voice in our mill.

Attend Union Meetings

Our local's union hall is located at 2039 Doris Road, Augusta.  Meetings begin promptly at 7:00pm.
